Auto Detailing is the complete cleaning, restoration, and finishing of a vehicle's exterior and interior to bring about a showroom, off the assembly line shine and polish on the outside, with a smooth feel and clean smell on the inside. Exterior detailing involves thorough paint decontamination which can include washing, bug and tar removal, clay barring, etc. to prepare the paint for polishing and finishing.
Interior detailing is the deep cleaning and restoration of a vehicle's interior cabin. The goal of detailing a car's interior is to disinfect and deodorize the vehicle while restoring it to its original factory condition. Even though making the inside of a car look brand new again might not always be entirely possible, nothing beats the feeling of driving in a meticulously clean car that used to be a smelly eyesore.
Having your car detailed can significantly raise its value. Besides the fact that buyers love to see a car with a clean interior, detailing a car preserves the integrity of the upholstery. Reflection Perfection uses products and techniques that help to prevent damages such as fabric tearing and staining, dried and cracked plastics, rubbers, vinyls and leathers, and carpet stains. Moving to the exterior, cars with shiny paint jobs and no/minimal surface rust look more appealing and sell easier.
One of the many functions of human skin is to protect our body from infections. If we get a cut, we clean the cut and put a bandage on it to keep it from becoming a bigger, infected wound. Similarly, if we don't take care of our cars' paint, the metal underneath can become "infected" -- it can rust and corrode! Sealed paint works like a barrier that helps prevent this. Rock chips and scratches break through this barrier and expose the metal, running a risk for "infection." Dried bugs and
caked on dirt can become embedded into the paint's clear coat, leaving holes when they are removed and exposing bits of metal to the environment. This makes it important to keep your car clean for the sake of more than just a good looking car.
When a car rolls off the assembly line, the headlights are covered with a protective coat that preserves clarity and prevents haziness. Over time, bits of dirt, small pebbles, and chemicals will scratch and chip away at this layer of protection. This leaves your headlights exposed to the elements, and the plastic begins to oxidize and become yellow and hazy. Eventually this becomes pretty ugly, and it's actually dangerous to both you and whoever else is on the road.
Yellowed headlights let less light shine through, and cause lowered visibility for drivers at night. This poses a serious safety concern. Thankfully you don't need to spend hundreds of dollars to replace your headlights. Instead, you can save money and restore them by removing the surface oxidation which reveals perfectly clear plastic beneath it. Then a new UV coating can be applied to give the same protection that your car had when it was brand new.
Some detailers claim to offer complete interior details yet their service is done in an hour. A truly complete interior detail that is attentive to every nook and cranny can take time. The service time can vary greatly due to factors such as the level of dirt in the car, upholstery material, how many detail technicians are available to work on your car, and lighting (believe it or not this is actually a huge factor).
The same explanation for the standard interior package, but it will require a bit of extra time to go over the fine details and to perform the extra services.
Similar to the interior detail packages, the outside lighting can play a large role in how long it takes to make sure your car is clean. Furthermore, if it is a hot and sunny day, extra steps will need to be taken to make sure water and soap does not dry on the paint.
The amount of time needed to clay a car will depend on the condition of the car's paint, the size of the vehicle, outside conditions, and the number of detail technicians available.
The service will take roughly two hours for a pair of headlights. However, the clear coat will take about a day to dry, so don't plan on taking your car anywhere. Or at least try to limit your driving. We recommend putting your car in a garage or dry, pollen free place during the drying process.
~ 1 hours
We recommend that you empty out all of your belongings from your car. We would never take anything from your car. We only recommend this to make the detailing process faster and to give you even further peace of mind. If you forget any items in your car, we will set them aside in special bags for you.
Since Reflection Perfection operates on a completely mobile basis, we will need a power source and a water source for a hose. We also ask that you pull your car into your driveway and give us sufficient room to have the car doors completely open and to move around freely.
We accept cash or check only. Payment will be collected on site.
